Designers at Onkyo are getting clever, teaming up with acoustic guitar luthiers at Takamine and putting together loudspeakers that are more akin to musical instruments than car horns.
A pair of Onkyo D-TK10 Guitar Speakers will run you around $2000, but then you’ll be paying for what the company calls “musicality and acoustic personality,” just like you get in a custom-crafted guitar.
The speakers must sound great when playing acoustic guitar music and orchestral selections, but how will they sound with techno, or Def Leppard? Our guess is, it’s all good.
