The Martian is doing pretty well at the box office this weekend: it’s poised to take the #1 spot and overtake Gravity’s record from a couple of years ago.

So, with that in mind, what’s your favorite film that takes place on the Red Planet?

Mine? (Aside from The Martian) Mission to Mars. It’s a terrible, terrible movie, but honestly, when you get right down to it? It’s pretty similar: astronaut is stranded on Mars, there’s a rescue, and even a dramatic orbital scene. The whole aliens thing makes it super corny, and I love it for that reason.
