Not as cool as a wifi phone that lets you use Windows Live Messenger wherever there’s a connection (do any exist yet?), the Philips VoIP433 plugs into your computer via the USB port and allows you to talk over Microsoft’s new Live Messenger VoIP service.

By using a phone, instead of speakers and a mic, you minimize echo and get better sound quality. Plus, dialing is easier when you can press the actual numbers and view contacts directly on the screen. Philips has redesigned the phone from the original model we saw earlier this year at CES.
