All of the complaints about the original Chromebook—the battery life, the hardware, the trackpad—have been fixed in Samsung’s model, which iFixit tore apart in true tear-down style.

Inside, they discovered the chips don’t require cooling fins as they don’t produce much heat, and that the li-polymer battery lives up to its promise of 8 hours’ life, and that under the keyboard, Samsung’s included a Synaptics T1320A capacitive touchscreen controller. All the rest of the specs can be viewed over on iFixit’s site, along with some gory photos of the Chromebook torn apart. We know you like a bit of gore. [iFixit]
