Here’s a product announcement more than just a few people have been waiting for, including myself. Sony has finally announced a Network Walkman that actually supports MP3. It’s the NW-HD3, which as far as I can tell, is the exact same thing as the NW-HD1 and NW-HD2 beyond MP3 support. But here’s the kicker; Sony is also offering upgrades to existing HD1 and HD2 owners for a small fee (2000 yen), though it means sending your player to Sony for the process.
We’ll be posting more details (in English) later today, but there’s really not much more to it. Yeehaw, finally an iPod alternative I can get excited about.
