Sony will be releasing the “CMT-AH10” microcomponent system in Japan on May 21st, with Hi-MD, CD, and cassette(?) support. Interestingly enough, the unit can connect to a PC via USB — but don’t expect it to be recognized as a USB speaker system. Nay, the USB is for playing ATRAC3 files and ATRAC3 files only. I’ll mention the MP3 playback as well, but this playback is limited to MP3 files you happen to have on CDs. What happened? This is a step back for Sony. I thought they were going to start supporting MP3?
