The only words that illustrator Jed McGowan needs to tell the geological history of Hawaii are indications of time. Otherwise, he lets the dreamily colored artwork in his short webcomic tell us all about the past, present, and future of the islands.
Earlier this year, McGowan posted another comic in a similar style about the Voyager spacecraft. Much like Hawaii, Voyager is about capturing the beauty of the universe seen with the passage of time. And there’s a particular serenity in the way he imagines the future and journeys into the unknown.
