El Presidente may be safely far from Virginia, but Marine One, his personal chopper is in action. David Cenciotti shares this photo of the Pentagon—with fleeing crowds in the foreground. It's been a busy day in Virginia!

Luckily everyone's alright, it seems—although WaPo reports some minor structural damage and water leakage inside the DoD's polygon of solitude. [via David Cenciotti]

I'm fairly certain that the President is not aboard that heli.

First of all, "Marine One" always flies with a group of identical helicopters as a security measure; here, you can see there is just one.

Second, are Sikorsky VH-3Ds (as seen in the photograph) still used as Marine One? I'm pretty sure they've been replaced by the VH-60Ns (aka Black Hawk) these days.
