The Walking Dead Midseason Finale Made Daryl Cry For An Hour. AN HOUR.

Actor Norman Reedus told TV Guide that the events of The Walking Dead's midseason finale, airing on November 30th, were so emotional that he genuinely cried for an hour before he was able to shoot the episode's finale scenes. Huh. Why do I suspect that these weren't tears of happiness?

Oh, right, because nothing happy ever happens on The Walking Dead. Here's a bit of the interview that Reedus posted on his Facebook page:

Reedus describes the hour's final moments as so devastating that they unleashed an intense wave of feelings before the cameras rolled. "I sat on an apple box with my head between my legs and just balled for an hour," he says. "I really wanted not to tear up during [the scene] — I wanted to be like I wasted every tear in my body before we started shooting — so I just sat there and cried and cried and cried."

That... that's not good. What could possibly be so awful for Daryl that Reedus himself was forced to sb himself out before shooting? Obviously, not a lot of options come to mind, and they all revolve around a few specific characters dying. Losing any of the people I'm thinking of would be equally tragic for the viewers, so allow me suggest a way it could be even worse — what if more than one person Daryl cares about dies?

My thoughts exactly.
