And before you say Neil deGrasse Tyson, consider for a moment that his enthusiasm — which, don’t get us wrong, is great, but can also be a little overwhelming — could also be interpreted as threatening to an alien race. NdGT can be a little intense. We want somebody cool, calm and collected — but also a little quirky.
Also: bow ties. Bill wears bow ties. He wore bow long ties before they were cool. That’s called foresight. Plus we’re all onboard with bow ties, right? Right. Then it’s decided. Bill Nye for Ambassador of Earth! (We do need one, after all.)
