The DIY ping pong robot UHTTR-1, which was made by Ulf Hoffman and in development for 2 years, hits the ball back independently to start some fun rallies. It all comes together so fluidly, the camera senses the ball, the software tells the motor where to move the arm, the aluminum construction executes the hit and it works brilliantly. Like a metal human arm. Super neat.
