The Globosomes are orb-like creatures that live on a distant planet, and in this short animated film, we witness everything from the birth of their planet, through the appearance of Globosome intelligence, and to the death of the entire alien species.
Sascha Geddert wrote and directed The Rise and Fall of Globosome, and Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg includes this message with the film on Vimeo:
This film is inspired by the special times we’re living in on our own planet. We’re ourselves at the crossroads: Rise to our true calling and explore the universe or perish from the face of a dirty planet. Surely we have culture, science and art but what does remains of these achievements, if you look at our world from a global perspective.
Geddert manages to convey that idea with creatures that don’t look a thing like us, and yet consume, connect, and build in mesmerizing animated sequences.
