Toshiba Introduces Still More 3D Display Technology

By

Reading time 1 minute

Toshiba brings another 3D display technology to bear, where they use an ultra-thin film that acts as a sort of lens to control the direction of light exiting an LCD panel. This technology led to the display you see at the right, which is intended to be placed on a flat surface (think: playing chess using a 3D display). As with all 3D displays, you’ll need some specialized software — Toshiba’s software allows for 15 different angles to the left and right, for a total of 30 angles of display. May not seem like much, but it’s 29 more angles than what you’re currently looking at (unless you work for Toshiba).
