Verizon Wants to Buy Netflix Except They Really Don’t
A play in one act.
Analyst: I’ve heard from absolutely nobody, or maybe one guy who doesn’t know what he’s talking about, that Verizon wants to buy Netflix or something similar.
Everybody: Verizon is going to buy Netflix, the end.
Exeunt.
Analysts are full of it, yo. And while Verizon is definitely interested in streaming, all signs point to Redbox being the sisterwife in this unholy alliance. [Bloomberg]

Apple Is Maybe Buying a Flash Memory Company
Apple loves flash memory. Apple sits a top a vast and expansive ocean of large-denomination bills. Anobit is a company steeped in flash memory. Ergo, the rumor that Apple spent $400-$500 million to buy Anobit is probably true, or at least makes sense, in that if Apple didn’t do that maybe now they’ve read all these reports and are suddenly thinking OH RIGHT we should totally do that.
