SpaceX’s second cargo delivery mission to humanity’s outpost in space is set to lift off at 10:10 ET, atop the company’s Falcon 9 rocket. Watch it live, with coverage beginning at 8:30 ET, here on io9 (see below) — or via SpaceX’s webcast page beginning at 9:30 ET.

The resupply mission is the second in SpaceX’s 12-mission, $1.6-billion deal with NASA, and a crucial proving step on the company’s path to delivering humans to and from the ISS. Every successful cargo delivery instills a little more confidence in the burgeoning private spaceflight sector, and adds another feather to SpaceX’s cap of credibility. We’re talking about crucial proof-of-concept — not just for crewed missions to and from the ISS, but to the Moon, asteroids, and Mars.
