A forum jockey over at Xboxhacker has developed a way to play burned ripped backup DVDs on his Xbox one without the use of a hardmod or softmod. This hack does all of the work by hacking the DVD firmware.
Basically, all you have to do to get the xbox 1 to ‘authenticate’ a disc is to feed it the correct sector FD021E contents
This still isn t a fully developed hack though, it is just a proof of concept so don t go flooding their forums asking how to do this, just be patient and eventually the finalized documentation will surface.
