We're not sure how many hours it took to assemble this collage of Steve Jobs made solely out of Apple products, but we're pretty sure the process was done on a Mac. Even though Apple hasn't really had a diverse lineup of "stuff" to use, it's enough to make this picture look 95% like Jobs. The other 5%, according to a few Giz editors, makes him look either a bit like Dick Cheney or a bit like Hitler. Tough to say. Click for big pic. that's awesome.
Probably just made using a folder of apple product images and one image of Steve using the photo mosaic screen saver in Leopard.

Hmmmmm....I could honestly say this was the last thing I expected to see on Gizmodo today.
Very cool nonetheless!
I always have to wonder though who has time to make all this pointless crap?
Where's the one of WOZ?
Looks like someone had a long night in front of MSPaint!
I have never seen a prettier reality distorted.
it has a certain.. Stalin-esque quality
you act like Hitler and Cheney are different people.
If you squint hard enough, his glasses, those two shiny spots on head and his ear for the word "Boom".
Why is there a picture of Hitler on Giz today?
forM*
What would be hella-awsome (sorry) would be if this thing was in flash and the individual pieces came together in a glorious animation that you can't view on your iPhone.
It's beautiful.
@che_leo: That's what I thought. The 3/4 Chin-up, Optimistic stare...the true sign of a ruler.
Where's the Bill Gates collage
It does have a Stalin-esque feel to it. And Bill Gates doesn't get one. He's a nerd. NOOGIES FOR THE NERD!
OBEY
How could anyone forget Mao? That's totally a Mao Ze Dong pose too.
It would be be nice if credit was given to the artist that did it.
@SchruteBuck: So you get your little star and then you coast along with comments like that? Is this going to end up being like after strider_mt2k got in the hall of fame and rested on his laurels for a good 6 months? (No. I'm not bitter.)
@92BuickLeSabre: Why don't you have one by the way? You have ten times as many followers as me.
"Mein Krap!"
@92BuickLeSabre: Don't forget that Strider's a whoring-turncoat (over at Endgadget and Fark) too... ;)
@SchruteBuck: LOL.
@SigmundTheSeaMonster: or, iKampf
@duckballs: Good one! :)
@SchruteBuck: When was the last time you heard of a Buick LeSabre getting honored for anything? No love for the Buicks bro.
Apparently, to paraphrase Harrison Ford, I'm not underrated, I'm understood.
@Mayor McRib: The pictures are of varying sizes. I doubt something this elaborate was constructed that way. It's possible, but...
@duckballs: Brilliant
@92BuickLeSabre: True. I've owned several GM products, and you might want to consider a name change. And you're right, once more with effort: I for one welcome our new collage overlord. I mean, what's an iphone. I mean, will it blend. GAHHHH. DO WANT. How is this a gadget? THIS WAS POSTED MONTHS AGO AT ENGADGET. OH COME ON, WHAT'S HAPPENING TO ME? HOW ABOUT A NSFW? Ok, you might be right, I'll refocus my efforts.
Ah, the cult of personality! Maybe we're not so unlike places like N. Korea after all!
Is it me or am I seeing a bit of Gandhi?

old
there is a black version of this too.
i dont think this is too time consuming. I remember when i was back in school, some engineers had to do a project like this. they had to design the software that made a collage out of smaller pictures. so if you have the software, it is easy.
Does Gizmodo lean heavily towards apple stuff? There doesn't seem to be a day that goes by that something relating to apple isn't on the site.
They probably just used AndreaMosaic (or, more likely, MacOSaiX).
@cylonite: Huh, now that you mention it, he totally does look old here, I agree. The white hair, the shiny spot on his head, the deep creases around his mouth, the tired look behind the grampa glasses. The effect is subtle but definitely there.
Very astute observation. I wonder what the underlying message is, behind the decision to make him look that way? Perhaps you have further insight?
What? No "BOOM!" balloon???
Oh my. Some people really do have a remarkably unhealthy obsession with Apple and Jobs, don't they?
If you know which ass-licking, sycophantic creep did this, keep him away from your kids and worry much, much more if he gets a job with the US Postal Service. kthxbai.
(Sorry, just visited ichc....)
@92BuickLeSabre: LOL
@SchruteBuck: so that's how you get a star.. did they let you know or did it just appear?
maybe you and the other stars get something us lesser mortals don't. ... its a conspiracy.
Star envy, there - I have said it.
@flyboy: It's more of an asterisk than a star indicating that the comment will contain bullshit.
Haha, I can see the Hitler 'stache in there. Well done, though.
@D-13:
They tried to make the Bill Gates collage out of Zune images, but he ended up looking too Zune brown - more like Bill Cosby than Bill Gates!
is it just me or anyone here has never heard of www.sumyn.com ??? I got one done of my son, good stuff here...I assume that no one would sit there and do this by hand when a computer can do it in minutes.
seems the link is dead but it worked a bit ago...
You're new around here, aren't you?
Yes, you could say Giz has their favorites. It is one of the things you learn to enjoy (despise) about this wonderful (awful) web site. You might call it a love (hate) relationship, but it would be more accurate to call me a bit silly (schizophrenic).
A young Harry Truman?
Okay, younger.
@tricky69: and you'll spend half of your life reading gizmodo whining about it!
@Monty:
Its a tech news and gadget gadget site. Since Apple is the leading manufacturer of the coolest and most innovative gadgets out there why would the heavy apple news surprise you. Plus people seem to enjoy apple rumors and stuff like that. I have to say though, even as an Apple fanboy, that I don't need a post on here when some kid in Wisconsin finds a tortilla chip with Steve Jobs likeness on it, or a potato shaped like an apple logo.
