Check out these awesome CGI images, all put together by Andre Kutscherauer, a super-talented 3D artist. The works all include some form of evil robot madness, and with titles such as Brute Force, Selfillumination and Dandelion of Screws, how could we be anything but massively impressed? If you think we're talking junk, as usual, dive into the gallery and be amazed by the fantastic art installations. For the record, that little light bulb was just asking for moth based trouble—we'd be surprised if he doesn't have his head shattered in no time. That's the problem with being too clever for your own good; given enough cord, you'll plug yourself in...or something like that. [ak3d via io9]

Looks real.
everyday objects brought together to create an abstract meaning. gorgeous.
Oh wow.
These make good little sculpture projects, too
Why do I get the feeling this is going to be featured as a mini movie for Dysney in the near future.
That little bulb has Wessonality.
Hmm. I actually had that lightbulb-with-plug image as a desktop wallpaper maybe 5 years ago or so. Always wondered where it came from.
Donald Duck and Scrooge McDuck know the inventor goose, Gyro Gearloose who invented a little helper that looks just like this light bulb guy.

this stuff has been around for a while but it is still simply amazing. the ideas and the CG are topnotch even for their age.
Chibi-robo?
Hey! That's Gyro Gearloose's helper.

I've seen these exact images more than 2 years ago. Yawn.
@rikkdbomb:
And your point is??? Would you like some sort of prize?
@rikkdbomb: And I've seen your type of Comment longer ago - which repeat do you think is more worthwhile? That little bulb guy is going places, no doubt.
@Ian:
yep first thing that came to my mind as well
Am i the only one reminded of chibi robo?
IM actually more reminded of that robot from Transformers, that could shoot sheruken and transform into a cell phone a and a boom box!
Learn to rescale
@rikkdbomb: And that just makes them even MORE impressive, as they were done less sophisticated tools. And before you "yawn" do one even 1/4 as impressive.
You need to show some respect. This guy has skills that are so far beyond anything you can do that it's beyound comprehension that you have no concept.
And that goes for you too, mtfbmx. Show me something even close to this good that you have created.
Regardless of whether or not you like it, it shows a level of skill and creativity that very precious few will ever reach. Much like Mapplethorpe, whether you like it or not, you cannot deny the skill and vison that made them. (even his flower studies are oddly sexual...)
Show some repect
@sqeakytoy of the apocalypse: Stupid fn lappy, I really hate this thing...
show some *respect*
one more vote for the edit button guys....
These aren't renders?
That's some shiny shit!
I like them.
My only experience building ray-traced 3D images was back on an Amiga 1000. It took days to do a wire-frame of a single image, and then the computer would process it for hours. Ultimately, they looked like soft brown stuff compared to these imaginative designs and extremely impressive products. Thanks for making me feel pathetic, Andre.
Cute. Very imaginative.
Fun fact: "Andre Kutscherauer" is Aston Kutcher. Apparently the producers of "That 70s Show" made him change his name because they thought the original sounded "too ethnic, even for TV." That's also why Demi Moore signs her name as "Demi Moore Kutscherauer," and why Aston (né Andre), whose first love remains 3-D modeling, is credited with CGI Effects on "Punk'd"!!!
@frigg: I pray you're joking. Otherwise, my entire universe may just implode.
@frigg: You have to give a little more than that. The image of the artice on the website looks nothing like Aston Kutcher. Kutcher was born in 1978, the copy on the site says 1981 for Kutscherauer. Kutcher's major was biochemical engineering, but I can see the 3d connection there.
I think that they are different people. I also can't find info on the name change.
Are you Punking us?
I'm so hideously cool that i had a cave painting of this before electricity was invented, you guys should really check out nickelback, if you know who they are that is....
such hard hilights and shadows for something CGI, although the "moth" one was very well made. Now if we could just find a way to take out aston kutcher with andre kutscheraur's anivention, the paradox would be solved.
"Aston, you got punk'd!"
:flick of the switch:
end of story. MDK (watch demolition man)
Gyro Gearloose?

Question is:
"Is it plugging itself in or unplugging itself?"
