X-Men: First Class

Here's a lengthy new featurette.

And here are a few more clips.

Michael Fassbender explains how he approached Magneto's tortured psyche:

You know, he is a very emotionally damaged person, as you said. I was trying to find certain scenes where I could show that vulnerability, and I thought the best place to do that was with Charles [Xavier]. He actually, for the first time, manages to let some barriers and defenses down to open up. There's a specific scene in the film, where through Charles Xavier, Magneto is born. Up until then, Eric has a very crude way of dealing with his powers. He hasn't really harnessed the full potential of them, and it's Charles Xavier who does that for him. Under his tutelage, Eric finds the true depths to his power.

Here's a new clip, entitled "Production Value."

Neville Page, who did creature design on Cloverfield, Star Trek, and Super 8, has reportedly joined Ridley Scott's design team. [ShockTillYouDrop]

The Hunger Games

Three more bits of casting news - Amber Chaney will be playing Lavinia the Avox, "a girl who is punished by the Capitol by having her tongue cut out and forced to serve others", while Kimiko Gelman and Nelson Ascencio will play prep team members Venia and Flavius. [/Film]

Transformers: Dark of the Moon

The red Ferrari that is known as Mirage in the various tie-in media will have a different name in the film, as "he speaks with an Italian accent and is named after a famous Italian." Speaks in an Italian accent, you say? Well, if anyone was wondering which Transformer would be picking up the baton of crass cultural insensitivity so nobly carried by the Twins in Revenge of the Fallen...well, I think we just found a solid contender. The Hobbit

Peter Jackson has now confirmed that Orlando Bloom will reprise his role as Legolas. [ComingSoon.net]

Jackson also says the White Council - which includes Gandalf, Galadriel, and Elrond - and their attack on Dol Guldur will be in the movies, and "not just in one scene either." This seems to confirm the return of Hugo Weaving as Elrond (Ian McKellan and Cate Blanchett are already confirmed), but Jackson doesn't quite come out and say that. [Facebook]

Jack the Giant Killer

Zach Braff is reportedly close to signing on as Frank, the "loyal but under-appreciated assistant" to James Franco's Oz. [Deadline]

Doctor Who

Here's a trailer and a prequel to the mid-series finale, "A Good Man Goes to War." You know, I'm starting to think this won't be a lighthearted romp.

And here are some rumors and tidbits. There's no way to know whether these are accurate or not, so take them all with a grain of salt. The two cribs that were seen in a set photo from this episode do indeed play a key role, with the white crib being what Amy's baby is initially put in, and the blue crib - which was in fact the Doctor's own crib when he was an infant - is what the Doctor gives Amy at the end of the episode. The Sontaran in this episode, Strax, is actually a medic who assists the Doctor, which seems sort of backed up by the promo photo of Rory and the Sontaran together. There are also quite a few gay couples in this episode, possibly including the Silurian character Madame Vastra.

As for the really big stuff - the Cybermen do appear in this episode, but they're not the main focus, while River's identity is revealed only in the episode's last moments. Oh, and Amy's baby might be named Melody. If anyone wants to start speculating on how Melody Pond could transmute to River Song...well, I can't imagine there's any way I could possibly stop you. [Doctor Who Spoilers]

Someone who claims to have seen a screener for episode 7 says that it ends with the following caption: "Doctor Who will return in the Autumn with Let's Kill Hitler."

I'd be shocked if "Let's Kill Hitler" is actually the real episode title...but yeah, that would be sort of awesome. [Doctor Who Spoilers]

Torchwood: Miracle Day

A couple more tidbits on the upcoming season from Eve Myles:

Myles: You'll see her as a mother and a warrior. She's militant and does what she has to do and has to make the biggest sacrifice of her life. The only place for Torchwood to go was bigger and better. We've completely conquered that this year.

Game of Thrones

Emilia Clarke gives a little insight into Daenerys:

You're seeing her grow from a submissive girl into a woman - and a kick-ass warrior queen.

How does pregnancy change her?
It gives her enormous strength and an iron will.

True Blood

Jessica Tuck offers some thoughts on where her character Nan Flanagan is headed this season:

"Nan Flanagan and Bill Compton have a history. Details of that history will be revealed in season 4...It would be foolish to think that Nan Flanagan's efforts were just about making humans and vamps one big happy family. There is an "agenda" behind her agenda but that is not for me to reveal right now...Honestly, I think she's just a bitchy ball buster – she needs some lessons in personal dynamics...Relationships between the characters get much more complicated and redifined. I love this season – I think there is a lot to "sink your teeth into." You won't be disappointed."
