It’s no secret that BlackBerry has seen better days, despite the recent introduction of new phones. But one of its bright spots is BlackBerry Messenger, and now, according to Bloomberg, it’s looking into adding a money transfer service to this product.

For now it’s just a test, and it’s only happening in Indonesia for one bank. And the service will only work on BlackBerry 5, 6, and 7 devices. So those shiny new BlackBerry Z10s won’t be able to send funds. But, provided that it goes well, money transfer could potentially be added to more devices in more places. And it would add something incredibly useful to an already impressive, reliable set of messaging features. [Bloomberg]
