To get a New Zealand IP address, connect to a VPN server in Auckland. We tested NordVPN, Proton VPN, and ExpressVPN in October, and they unblocked TVNZ+, ThreeNow, and Māori+. ExpressVPN worked with TVNZ+, ThreeNow, and Māori+, but its New Zealand server was very slow: 20.99 Mbps download, an 89.0% drop, and 3.76 Mbps upload. Pages loaded more slowly than on NordVPN and Proton VPN, and one live stream took 35 seconds to start. Everything still played. ExpressVPN doesn’t publish how many servers it has in New Zealand.
