Despite Fierce Competition, RIM Manages 33% Profit Increase

It's been a while since a BlackBerry handset really stole the spotlight, with the new—and by all counts nice—BlackBerry Tour getting trampled underfoot by this month's Palm and Apple news extravaganza. A friend of mine just got a Storm; despite all the negative talk about it she likes it a lot... it seemed nice when I was playing around with it. Sure it doesn't have the robust app support as an iPhone, but for basic web/email it seems pretty damn good. Plus VZW service is a lot better in my area (ATT doesn't even have 3G here yet).
