In the perfectly-titled picture book Oh No! Or, How My Science Project Destroyed The World, we follow the misadventures of a geeky girl whose giant robot runs amok. We’ve got a gallery of gorgeous giant monster art from the story.
So how can our protagonist fight back against the robot she created for a 5th grade science fair project? Well, as you can see from the schematics in the gallery, she builds a supergiant toad to fight the robot. Which makes perfect sense, if you think about it. Writer Mac Barnett teamed with illustrator Dan Santat to bring you this story about the dangers of giant robotics and mad synthetic biology.
I especially love that first image, whose caption in the book reads, “”I probably shouldn’t have given it a superclaw, or a laser eye, or the power to control dogs’ minds.” (Note the one robot dog who has put tin foil on his head.)
