Every so often things trickle out of JVC that don't quite fit. They make a good TV, but their MP3 players just haven't taken off over here. I'm sure they're doing quite well overseas, but we 'mericans just haven't accepted the the fact that the old girl can innovate.
That said, it's good to see that they're giving it the old college try. The Alneo MP3-players—dubbed XA-F107 and XA-F57—play most audio formats and come in four colors. They cost about $90 for the F57 (512MB) or $120 for the F107 (1GB). Not much else to say except that it looks like the Sony Bean's design team has defected.
