For those who prefer their superhero fashions tinged with glamor, Australian designer Romance Was Born has debuted its comic book couture based on Marvel comics, blending the Silver Age with modern lines.
This collection, made in cooperation with Marvel comics, debuted at Australian fashion week. The clothes utilize Marvel artwork — much of it inspired by Jack Kirby — as well as the Kirby krackle, the dots popularized by Kirby’s work. It would be tough to do any actual superheroing in these runway looks, but you’d certainly be the sharpest person decked out to watch The Avengers this weekend.
