Oh my! Agents of SHIELD finally returns next Tuesday at 9:00 pm ET, and this new promo poster from Marvel artist Gabriele Dell’Otto promises there’s one major change coming to a certain characters — and to the show. Spoiler ahead!
So the mysterious Inhuman in the hoodie? That’s Raina, who has transformed in a much different way from her fellow Inhuman Skye. She looks pretty awesome, but what I’m more excited about is that Agents of SHIELD seems to have finally remembered its a show set in a world of superheroes and villains, and they can be a lot wilder and more imaginative than they have been. I mean, Kyle McLachlan is great as Calvin Zabo, and I understand they only have TV budgets to work with, but this is the Marvel universe! Not every threat — hell, not every ally — is should look human. This is a place where giant dragons wear purple underpants. Go ahead and have some fun with it.
Given the show’s continual improvement over season 2 — and its increasing reliance on Marvel lore — I feel it’s safe to assume that Agents of SHIELD is going to continue to get crazier, and I think that’s exactly what the show needs. Well, that and a much better suit for Deathlok.
