Ghostbusters
Now that we have a good idea about who will be the four main leads in Paul Feig's Ghostbusters, we're also getting possible plot details. Now, none of this is sourced in any way, so all the usual caveats apply, but: the film reportedly starts with two characters named Erin Gabler and Abby Bergman as former colleagues, who co-wrote a book about the paranormal together and ended up taking different paths. Echoing the first film, Erin is close to getting tenure at Columbia, while Abby searches for ghosts with her new partner, Jillian. The fourth team member may be Patty, supposedly an MTA subway ticket employee who stumbles into the paths of ghosts.
Hitfix also claims that Sony wants Peter Dinklage for the main villain, a "creepy mechanical genius." They also report that one of the characters yet to be cast is Martin Heiss, a professional supernatural debunker who may be a secondary antagonist.
Assuming all these details are true, it seems possible, as Hitfix speculates, that Patty will be Melissa McCarthy, Erin is Kristen Wiig, Abby is Leslie Jones, and Jillian is Kate McKinnon. [Hitfix]
Independence Day 2
Reports indicate that Liam Hemsworth (The Hunger Games) has been offered the lead role in the Independence Day sequel. So no Will Smith, but maybe Gale? [The Wrap]
Terminator: Genisys
A couple more details about the T-800-on-T-800 fight scene we described yesterday: 1) Apparently they're replacing Old Arnold with a digital model, so both Arnies will be CG instead of just one. 2) Skydance, the production company, retweeted the TerminatorFans article, lending it a bit more credence. Captain America: Civil War/Avengers: Age of Ultron
Robert Downey Jr. talked to Empire about how he ended up agreeing to appear in the third Captain America movie:
They said to me, 'If we have you, we can do this, or Cap 3 has to be something else.' It's nice to feel needed. And at this point it's about helping each other, too. I look at it as a competition and I go, 'Wow, maybe if these two franchises teamed up and I can take even a lesser position, with people I like and directors I respect, maybe we can keep things bumping along.'
He also gave a bit of a hint as to how Age of Ultron will set up up Tony Stark's position in Civil War — you know, how the Tony we know becomes one who could be on the side of a registration act or whatever version of that conflict makes into Civil War:
It's natural to change your views…The main thing to me is, what sort of incident could occur, and what sort of framework could we find Tony in? The clues about where we might find him next are in Ultron. But what would it take for Tony to completely turn around everything he's stood for? Joss brings this up all the time. It's kind of weird that these guys would have all these throw downs all over planet Earth and yet when the movie's over, nobody minds. What would the American government do if this were real? Wouldn't it be interesting to see Tony doing something you wouldn't imagine?
He then adds that the conflict between Steve Rogers and Tony may not be that cut and dried:
I wouldn't put it that [Tony becomes villainous] The biggest question is, for Chris and for Cap, how do we bring Cap to a place where people go, 'Man, I never thought I would see such a vast change in Steve.' After you see Snowpiercer, you're like, 'I want to see a little bit of that guy.'

Suicide Squad
Among the things that Margot Robbie will have to contend with as Harley Quinn is just how much of her characteristic accent and speaking mannerisms to include. Asked about it, Robbie answered:
None of those things have been set in stone at this point, but according to the comics, she's from New York and I think Brooklyn, so there may be a slight… I couldn't imagine it would be as strong as the Wolf of Wall Street accent. The lingo will be the difference between that and the other character I played in 'Wolf' but I don't know yet. We haven't spoken about it.
The Huntsman
It's not a huge surprise, since the film's already a prequel to Snow White and the Huntsman without Snow White in it — but most of the dwarves will also be missing from the film. We may get two of them, but not the ones played by Nick Frost, Toby Jones, or and Eddie Marsan. [Deadline]
Passengers
The long-stalled deep-space ship film is in talks to get a new director in the form of Morten Tyldum (The Imitation Game). The film was originally a Weinstein Company Project in the hands of director Brian Kirk and, at various points, had Keanu Reeves, Reese Witherspoon, and Rachel McAdams attached to star. Now, it's at Sony and starting over entirely. [Deadline]
Friday the 13th
The film's been pushed back again. It was originally slated for a March 2015 release, then a mid-November release — and now, Paramount's giving it a premiere date of May 13, 2016. Taking its old slot of November 13th is Rings, the third Ring movie. [Deadline]
Darkmouth
Alcon Entertainment has already bought the film rights to Darkmouth, an upcoming series of "comedic fantasy-adventure" novels written by Shane Hegarty. The first book hits U.K. and Australian bookshelves at the end of the month, and American ones in April. The books take place in the only town where monsters, called "Legends," still invade. The protagonist is the 12-year-old Finn, a horrible Legend Hunter who is also the only one remaining. As is traditional, there is an invasion of Earth coming that he must stop. [Deadline]

Doctor Who
Radio Times has a break down of everything we know about season nine so far. Most of it — that Paul Kaye (Game of Thrones) will play a character called Prentiss and that Morven Christie, Arsher Ali and Colin McFarlane will guest star — we've already heard. It also tells us that they're filming some part of this season in Spain, Missy will probably return, and that they're filming a two-parter written by Toby Whithouse that Steven Moffat calls "brilliantly creepy." [Radio Times]
Agent Carter
Showrunners Tara Butters and Michele Fazekas gave us details on Jarvis' never-seen, but totally real, wife:
FAZEKAS | There are no plans to see her — but she is a real person. I have seen the Twitter theories and I can confirm that she's a real person. He loves her, and what I love about the Jarvis/Peggy relationship is Jarvis (James D'Arcy) would never cheat on his wife — he adores her — but he still has such chemistry with Peggy.
BUTTERS | He has an affinity for her. And I love how that character relationship grows throughout the season. It reminds me of the first couple seasons of The X-Files, how because of the chemistry between Mulder and Scully, you really believed they cared about each other but it wasn't sexual. That was very refreshing.
They also hinted to the season finale, saying:
BUTTERS | "Stay to the very end."
TVLINE | What will viewers be feeling in its final two minutes?
FAZEKAS | Hopeful. And a little bit of sad. Everybody goes through the wringer! [Laughs] But there's somewhat of a resolution in Peggy's personal journey.

The Flash
Executive producer Andrew Kreisberg spoke in advance of last night's episode and said a bunch of things about Harrison Wells and Tom Cavanagh's stellar performance of him:
I think that's the biggest thing that we have discovered as writers, and when we watch the episodes.. you watch Tom in those scenes and you see how kind he is, and supportive… there's always those little moments throughout the episode - and even the moments that Tom brings into it, like throwing in an ad-lib, or the way he reads a line that we weren't expecting, or just a look he gives," Andrew continued. "Even though we know - we're the ones who made him evil - we sit there and are just like 'Why? Just please be Harrison Wells! Please don't be this nightmarish demon!' But I think that hopefully, we've plotted it so that not being sure what he was, and then knowing he's the Reverse-Flash but still not knowing what his full agenda is, people will continue to invest in him without feeling like they're too far ahead of the characters.
Candice Patton revealed that we're not done with the fall out from Barry's confession, saying that the biggest story for Iris is "definitely going to be her realization that Barry loves her and how she actually feels about that. I think she starts to process what that really means and how she really feels." [Buddy TV]
