OpenOffice, every geek’s choice for getting work done without lining Bill Gates’ pants with more diamond-studded gold, wants to get on Dell’s computers, and they want it badly. John McCreesh, Marketing Project Lead for OpenOffice, has written an open letter to Michael Dell sucking up and laying out why it would be totally rad to get their product as an option for preloading on new Dells.
It certainly would be awesome to have an option besides Microsoft Office on new PCs, but I’m not sure Dell has gotten over these mean ads. Come on Dell, grow a pair, let bygones be bygones, and give your customers the choice they clearly want.
