SlingPlayer Is Now Available for Kindle Fire

SlingPlayer is arriving on the Kindle Fire today, which is great news if you’re a fan of what Sling offer. The only downside is that the app alone costs $29.99. Is it worth it?

From what we’ve heard, the Fire app doesn’t retain the same functionality as the standard Android version launched last year. Instead of the easily navigable menus of the Android version, you’re looking a whole heap of on-screen buttons which you have to work your way through. Otherwise, it seems just fine.

If you already have a SlingBox and a Kindle Fire, go for it. If you’re looking for a tablet to use with your SlingBox when you’re on the go, steer clear of the Fire. [Amazon via Engadget and The Verge]
