A team of security researchers just stumbled across a massive cache of two million login credentials for sites like Facebook, Twitter, Google, LinkedIn, and ADP payroll. Shockingly, a large number of the passwords were overwhelmingly dumb.
Like “123456” dumb.
Guys. We’ve been over this again and again and again and again. It’s a really bad idea to choose something obvious—like “123456”—for your password. Hackers read these security research reports, too, and they know how stupidly popular these stupid passwords are. You might as well give them a little bit of a challenge by crafting something clever.
