This Building Looks Inspired by Cheese

OK—maybe it doesn’t look like actual cheese, but this design center in France (dubbed “The Orange Cube“) looks like the type of cheese that cartoon mice dream about and weirdos in Wisconsin wear on their heads. In reality, the building was designed by Jakob + Macfarlane Architects to revitalize the harbor districtin the city of Lyon. There’s a bunch of architectural jibbajabba explaining why the holes, geometric patterns and color were chosen (light and airflow, the movement of the river, and a historical paint used in harbors, respectively), but all I see is cheese. I big orange block of cheddar, to be exact. [Dezeen]
