Ghostbusters is a series jam-packed with iconic designs an amazing creatures. Those designs had to start somewhere of course, and that somewhere is in the amazing concept art of Henry Mayo, Thom Enriquez, John Deveikis and more. Ghostbusters: The Ultimate Visual History is out this week from Insight Editions and written by Daniel Wallace, charts the creation, release, and eventual legacy of the classic movies—filled with never-before-seen concept art, behind-the-scenes pictures from production, and amazing stories about the process of creating such an iconic franchise. And luckily, we’ve got some of that fantastic concept art to reveal here on io9—taking a look at the at the creation of two of the series’ most iconic ghostly creatures: the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man and Slimer.
