Io9 2025 Spoiler warning

King Conan

In a recent interview with The Arnold Fans (via THR), Arnold Schwarzenegger confirmed King Conan begins filming next year.

Next year, we are going to do King Conan. So that is a reality now, and I am excited about it. For the last 10 years, I have been saying, ‘We should do King Conan, and we should get a great script written, get someone who really understands Robert E. Howard, that understands the artwork of Frank Frazetta and to continue on.’ I want to have John Milius, the director of Conan 1, to be maybe the producer. So it will be really fantastic.

Bond 26

In a recent interview with Screen Daily, Bond 26 screenwriter Steven Knight stated he’s been meeting with “the SAS and even more secret outfits” while working on the script for the next James Bond movie.

[I’ve been meeting with] the SAS and even more secret outfits. I am talking to them about what they do every day. It’s all real. [Ian Fleming]… was living that life. In the war, he was doing those things. He knew people doing that stuff, going out there and killing people. Ian Fleming was such a great writer. To be a writer, you have got to know about people.

Bond has been bulletproof. People have been able to make mistakes and variations, quite elaborate variations, and the character has survived because the core of it is like a diamond. You can’t touch it. The person you are talking about is folklore.

The MCU/Avengers: Secret Wars

In a recent interview with Screen Rant promoting his new film, Ladies First, Sacha Baron Cohen suggested he would be open to Mephisto returning to the MCU. When asked whether we were more likely to see Mephisto or Borat again first, he said, “I think Mephisto. I don’t know if Borat will ever return.”

Birds of the Soul

Deadline reports Romanian filmmaker Constantin Popescu plans to shoot two films back-to-back which he hopes will become a franchise. Titled Birds of the Soul, the first film will be “set in the Carpathian Mountains in 1917” and follow “a remote village gripped by unexplained events as wartime paranoia collides with ancient mythology and supernatural forces.”

The Summoning

A group of babysitters summon the Creepypasta character Baby Blue in the trailer for The Summoning.

Master of the Universe

The Asylum has released a trailer for its Masters of the Universe (plural) mockbuster, Master of the Universe (singular).

Amityville Shark House

The new owner of the abandoned Amityville property learns a shark-worshipping cult has been holding ceremonies in his living room in the trailer for Amityville Shark House.

Rick and Morty: The Movie

In conversation with CinemaBlend, Dan Harmon confirmed a Rick and Morty movie is in development with Jacob Hair attached to direct.

Jacob Hair is the director. I mean, we didn’t shop around. He is an absolute — to say rock star is honestly feels like trivializing it, because that implies some kind of flash in the pan, kind of exciting. Jacob has it, came onto our team. It was like adding a pillar to it.

Hell Motel: Murder at Red Mountain

Bloody-Disgusting reports Devon Sawa will star in the second season of Shudder’s horror anthology, Hell Motel. Directed by Adam MacDonald (Backcountry, This Is Not a Test), season two will be set “at a mountain resort known for eliminating people’s inhibitions and amplifying their desires,” until ” guests and staff go missing without explanation.” As “”violent incidents increase, it becomes clear that Red Mountain has a long, horrific history for a reason and that no one is safe.”

The Boroughs

Finally, a new featurette introduces the residents of Netflix’s The Boroughs.
