Plus there’s already speculation on the new companion too. John Boyega admits to getting teary over The Force Awakens. Game of Thrones set reports tease what’s to come in Daenerys’ story in season six. Plus, Elizabeth Olsen on the fun of Civil War, and footage of the new Flash in action on The Flash. Behold, Spoilers!
Speaking to GQ, John Boyega discusses his reaction to reading the script, as well as how he sees Finn as a character:
When I read the script I cried, and I’m not really a big crier. I’m more like a frog-in-the-throat kind of guy, who’ll try to hold it in and make sure I don’t let it all out.
Finn is dope. His story is so epic. It’s a story that’s never been seen before, but it also mirrors the stories of Luke Skywalker and Han Solo. And he’s quirky and charismatic and funny. For me, he was the best character in the script.
Elizabeth Olsen (unsurprisingly) thinks the movie lives up to the hype:
I really think so, yeah. I think it’s darker, and it’s fun, it’s really fun. It was so hard to shoot, but I think it’s going to be a really interesting film. I’m excited to see how they’re going to end it, what the ellipses of the film will be.
She also adds a little on whether or not Wanda appears in Infinity War:
Those are things I’d like to know, too. Those are things that I have a group of people with me here that would like to know.
Sherlock’s Lara Pulver has been cast in the film in an undisclosed role. [Coming Soon]

Now that Jenna Coleman has officially announced her exit from the show, there are already rumors abound for the new companion who will take her place. British bookies Ladbrokes has announced that Michele Keegan, best known to British audiences for her long-running role in the soap Coronation Street, is currently at the highest odds to become the new companion following a slashing of her odds down to 4-1. [Doctor Who TV]
Meanwhile, the BBC are allegedly planning on the current Doctor making a hasty exit as well. British Tabloid The Mirror—so prepare your skepticism in advance—has an outlandish report claiming that Peter Capaldi, perturbed by the departure of Coleman and concerned about having time to do projects outside of Doctor Who’s intense schedule, may be looking to depart the show sooner rather than later. What’s even more surprising in this rumor is that the BBC are supposedly preparing for the actor’s departure as Doctor, drawing up a list of replacements... including former Game of Thrones star Richard Madden.
Madden is allegedly the current favorite at the corporation for the Thirteenth Doctor—and conveniently, a regular visitor to the set of the show to see Coleman, his girlfriend. As ever with reports like this (especially as the BBC has come out and firmly denied it), it’s best to treat it firmly as speculatory for now.
Set reports from the recent filming that began in Bardenas Real Natural Park in Navarre, Spain, say that not only has Emilia Clarke joined the 1,200 Dothraki extras at the location, but so has Michiel Huisman (Daario Naharis)—indicating that Daenerys may be found by her friends sooner rather than later. [Watchers on the Wall]
The show has released casting calls for a Lord of a Noble House who is “great with language and who has a lot of wattage”. Watchers on the Wall speculates the call may be for Robett Glover, Wyman Manderly or Howland Reed.
Danai Gurira teases the sixth season, and where Michonne finds herself going into it:
In the Coda episode she took [her katana] back down, and she took it back down because it had been used in a way that she couldn’t justify. If she’s not the one in this control of this very powerful weapon, it could land in the wrong hands. Also the world that she’s in is not one where she has the liberty she was hoping to have of exploring not being equipped with a lethal weapon at all times, exploring being in a society — it’s just not the world she’s in, and she really accepts that at the end of Season 5 and puts that thing back on her back. It really is a question now of how she navigates that dualism of the desire to function in a normal society — or in a society as normal as possible [laughs] — and to have a community that thrives, and the understanding that she is a warrior.
She has responsibilities therein because that’s a powerful role to have in this world, and it’s the one to which much is given and much is expected. We expect Michonne to stand up for those who need it and to be there and to be a part of the war that rages in this world of the apocalypse. She has to navigate that, and that’s kind of the moment she’s stepping into when we enter Season 6.
Producer Alex Kurtzman on why the world of the movie works in a TV format:
I think what’s interesting about it is if you follow it to its logical conclusion, the idea that you have an agent who works for the FBI who has this capacity, suddenly any case that you would see on a television show is going to be filtered through an agent with incredible ability but what makes him different and special is that he’s not an agent. He’s just a normal guy who’s thrown into this extraordinary circumstance and has to figure out how to deal with it. Also, he’s a different person when he’s on the drug. How much of himself will he end up compromising for what he now has to do?
The show has cast Mr. Robot’s Stephanie Corneliussen as minor comic character Valentina Vostok, for an episode set during the Cold War. In the comics, Vostok was a member of the Doom Patrol and eventually took on the name “Negative Woman”. [Coming Soon]
