Good news: The Lego Movie sequel definitely has a shot at maintaining some of the original charm from the first movie, because one of the original directors is sticking around!
Deadline just broke the news that while Phil Lord and and Chris Miller were staying on only as producers, the third original director Chris McKay will be taking the reins as a solo director.
McKay also comes from a long line of comedy, including Robot Chicken. Plus his work on Lego Movie speaks for itself. This is great news, because there needs to be someone on board willing to push the Lego characters so they continue being fully formed creatures. Keeping our fingers crossed for this one.
