Pragmata is a sci-fi action-adventure game from Capcom built around two characters you control at the same time on a lunar station. It mixes third-person shooting with real-time hacking puzzles.

About Pragmata

Pragmata is built around a pretty simple idea. You move through a lunar research station, shoot the robots that get in your way, and solve quick hacks while the fight is still going on. It is described as a sci-fi action-adventure set in the near future, with Capcom calling it a new IP about a stranded astronaut and a young android trying to escape a station taken over by hostile AI. That gives it a clear identity. It is less about straight gunplay and more about pairing shooting with small puzzles in the middle of combat.

That also explains why it feels different from a normal third-person shooter. The game is a fusion of shooting and hacking, rather than just aiming and firing. So if what you want is a quicker, cleaner action game, Pragmata may feel slower than you expect. If you want a shooter with more setup time and a bit of puzzle-solving in each fight, the appeal is easier to see.

Why Should I Download Pragmata?

The main reason to play Pragmata is that it keeps the action idea pretty unusual. The game leans into a two-character setup, real-time hacking, suit thrusters, and an Overdrive move that opens up nearby enemies. That gives it a fairly clear role. It is built to time the two sides of a fight together, not to clear rooms quickly.

Pragmata also feels different from a standard action game. The appeal is not really firepower or scale. It is closer to a back-and-forth where shooting and hacking work together, and you spend as much time setting up a shot as taking it. If you like action games that lean into rhythm and timing, or you like sci-fi stories with a clear single-player arc, the game fits that kind of play. It is also a brand-new IP rather than a sequel, which gives it its own world and characters to introduce.

Is Pragmata Free?

No, Pragmata is a paid game. It is sold on PlayStation Store, Xbox, Steam, and the Nintendo eShop as a one-time purchase, with a Deluxe Edition that adds outfits, a weapon skin, and a few extra music tracks on top.

That keeps the setup pretty simple. You buy it once and play, with no free version and no live service layer sitting on top.

What Operating Systems Are Compatible with Pragmata?

Pragmata is available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and S, PC through Steam, and Nintendo Switch 2.

That keeps the platform story pretty broad for a new IP. Pragmata is built for the current generation of hardware, so there is no version for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, or the original Nintendo Switch.

What Are the Alternatives to Pragmata?

NieR: Automata is the closest alternative if you want another sci-fi action game built around androids. Compared with Pragmata, it feels more combat-heavy and stylized, while Pragmata sits closer to a slower, puzzle-led game.

Death Stranding 2: On the Beach goes in a more cinematic direction. Compared with Pragmata, it feels more focused on movement and atmosphere, while Pragmata stays tighter to its lunar station and the pairing between Hugh and Diana.

The First Descendant is the more multiplayer-leaning option here. Compared with Pragmata, it feels more like a long-running live service game built around loot and progression, while Pragmata feels more like a self-contained single-player story you finish and move on from.
