In the wake of Apple, IFA, and Snap, it’s Meta’s turn to host a big, splashy event, and this one is expected to be all about smart glasses. Meta Connect 2026 is here, and with a keynote that’s slated for Sept. 23, Mark Zuckerberg and co. could usher in a few new pieces of hardware.
Among the rumored slate of gadgets is a new pair of smart glasses that don’t have cameras in them, as well as a “headset” that’s codenamed Phoenix, which looks strikingly similar to XR glasses made by Xreal and Google. Whether we get any news about a new Quest headset is TBD, but Connect used to be all about VR, so we can’t rule it out.
