Wavform is a social music platform built around the idea that discovering and discussing music can be more interesting when you do it with other people. Instead of functioning as another streaming service, it gives you a place to rate and review music, follow friends and creators, and see what other listeners are enjoying. The app can connect to your Spotify account and use your listening history to make rating and reviewing music easier. You can also use Wavform without connecting Spotify, so you don't have to link a streaming account to participate. As you build up your profile, your ratings and reviews become part of a record of your music taste.
Wavform also focuses on real-time listening activity, community rankings, and statistics. You can see what people you follow are listening to and explore music based on ratings from other users. This gives the app a more social approach to discovery than simply relying on an automated recommendation feed.
Why Should I Download Wavform?
Wavform is designed for people who enjoy keeping track of their music taste as much as they enjoy listening to music. You can rate and review albums and other releases, follow friends, and see what the people you follow are listening to. Connecting Spotify also means your listening history can be used when creating ratings and reviews, making it easier to keep your profile up to date.
The social element is one of the main reasons to use Wavform. Rather than browsing recommendations based solely on listening algorithms, you can discover music through the people and creators you choose to follow. Community rankings also give you another way to find highly rated music and see how other listeners are responding to different releases. The app provides detailed statistics as well, giving you a way to look at your listening habits and music preferences over time. Your profile can therefore become more than a collection of reviews. It can also act as a record of the music you've been listening to and the opinions you've formed about it.
Wavform is also designed to make sharing music opinions straightforward. You can write reviews, rate music, and share your thoughts with a community of other listeners. If you like discussing albums with friends, keeping track of what you've listened to, or finding music through other people's tastes, these features give you plenty of reasons to keep coming back.
Is Wavform Free?
Wavform is free to download and use, with optional in-app purchases for Wavform Pro. The free version provides access to the core social music experience, including rating and reviewing music, following friends and creators, and discovering music through the platform.
What Operating Systems Are Compatible with Wavform?
Wavform is currently available only for iPhone and requires iOS 14 or later. The App Store specifically identifies the app as designed for iPhone and says it is not verified for macOS.
There is currently no Android version listed, and Wavform is not a Mac, Windows, or web application.
What Are the Alternatives to Wavform?
Record Club is a social music platform centered on discovering, rating, reviewing, and organizing music. It has a particularly strong focus on album and release-level curation, with users able to create lists, maintain a personal rotation, write reviews, and follow what other members are listening to. Unlike Wavform's Spotify-connected approach, Record Club deliberately keeps its rotation curated by the user rather than automatically updating it from a streaming history. It is available on the web, iOS, and Android, giving it broader platform support than Wavform.
Echo - Rank music! takes a more competitive approach to music discovery. The platform lets users rank and rate music, share opinions with friends, participate in discussions, and climb community charts. One of its distinctive features is head-to-head album ranking, where users compare two releases directly. Echo also includes a feed, charts, and a profile system, making it a useful alternative if you want the social and ranking aspects of Wavform with a more game-like approach to comparing music. It is available on both iPhone and Android.
NextSpin is another music community focused on ratings, reviews, collections, and connecting with other listeners. You can rate albums, write reviews, build a personal collection, create lists, and follow friends to see what they are listening to. NextSpin emphasizes recommendations from other music fans rather than relying primarily on algorithmic discovery. It is available through dedicated iOS and Android apps, making it another option for users who want a social music platform without being restricted to Apple's ecosystem.
