Polaroid—yes, that Polaroid—has announced their latest portable DVD player, the PDJ-0793. Most of the time I don’t get a flying hoot about these portable players because a laptop can do the same job and is a bit more functional, but this one looks a little better than the average bear and has a reasonable price. The PDJ-0793 has a 7-inch screen mounted on a swivel base. It displays at a 16:9 aspect ratio and the battery life is average at about three hours. It also includes a headrest mount for the kiddos in the minivan. But the best feature of all, it doesn’t require shaking to get the image to fade in—good job stepping it up in the technology world, Polaroid. Available for $175 or so.
