Zack Snyder says he likes 3D, but still has to be convinced it's the right choice for the Man of Steel. Captain America turns Scotland into Norway...and brings Nick Fury along. See Mark Sheppard on the Doctor Who set! Spoilerlicious!

Superman Reboot:

Zack Snyder says he's still mulling over whether to shoot the film in 3D:

"I don't know for sure, I can't say for sure but I will say that the experience of the 3D in Guardians was so successful for what I wanted it to do. I think that 3D is pretty awesome if it's done as part of the cinematic language as opposed to being a gimmick."

He also mentioned that he's seen a 3D conversion for 300 that impressed him, but neither of those is quite the same thing as actually shooting a live-action movie in 3D, so he still has to figure out which is the right way to go. [Digital Spy and CBR]

Captain America:

The movie has wrapped shooting in Liverpool and Manchester, but the production team is now headed to another, much quieter British town. Filming will reportedly soon take place in the tiny hamlet Culross, Scotland. The town will reportedly double for a Norwegian town, and the rumor is Samuel L. Jackson will be on hand as Nick Fury. These sequences may tie in with those shown at the Comic Con panel in July, which depicted the Red Skull hunting for the Cosmic Cube in Norway, 1942. [ComicBookMovie]

Thor:

J. Michael Straczynyski reveals his cameo in the movie, which is a little beyond the ordinary walk-on by a comics writer in one of these movies. As he explains, he actually gets to recreate an iconic Thor moment that he himself wrote. He plays a passing driver who tries to pick up Thor's hammer, which has just landed on Earth. He utterly fails to pick the thing up, and then he calls upon his friends to help him move it. [ComicBookMovie]

Alien Prequel:

A couple new names are in the mix to join Ridley Scott's prequel. James Franco and Anne Hathaway are reportedly both contenders for roles. Hathaway could be up for the same lead role that Natalie Portman or Girl with the Dragon Tattoo star Noomi Rapace are supposedly in line for, or it might be another character entirely. Franco is, I believe, the first male actor rumored for the movie. [Bloody Disgusting]

28 Months Later:

Danny Boyle confirmed his interest in making the film - even if it doesn't end up directly involve him - and that he would be up for making it once his other commitments are done, which will take him through to 2012. So, if a script is ready to go by mid-2012, then it sounds like Boyle wants to make it happen, and he doesn't anticipate the rights issues being any major problem. [ShockTillYouDrop]

Replay:

Ben Affleck, who has directed two seriously awesome if aggressively Boston movies with Gone Baby Gone and The Town, might head into science fiction (and, more incredibly, non-Massachusetts) territory with his next film. He's reportedly been offered the chance to direct and perhaps star in the long-simmering film adaptation of the Ken Grimwood novel Replay, in which a 43-year-old man dies and wakes up in his 18-year-old body, and then he gets to live his life over and over again with all his memories intact. Affleck reportedly is considering this and another, baseball-themed movie (about the Yankees, no less), and it will apparently comes down to which film has the stronger new draft when he chooses which one to direct. Pride and Prejudice and Zombies:

A few new names to add to the pile of potential directors: the great Jonathan Demme (Silence of the Lambs, Rachel Getting Married), Let Me In's Matt Reeves, Year of the Dog director Mike White, and Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs codirectors Phil Lord and Chris Miller are all reportedly in contention. Journey 2 - The Mysterious Island:

The Journey to the Center of the Earth sequel will be filming scenes in Wilmington, North Carolina. And there's a plot synopsis, although it's sourced to IMDB: "The film is about a teenager who sets out on a mission with his mother's boyfriend to find his grandfather, who is thought to be missing on a mythical island, according to Internet Movie Database." Stretch Armstrong:

Everyone eagerly anticipating Taylor Lautner as a stretchy 70s toy, I've got some bad news - the Stretch Armstrong movie may well be delayed from 2012 to 2013. [IGN]

Doctor Who:

I'm honestly not sure how we're still finding slightly new things to say about Mark Sheppard's casting, but here we are. Reportedly, his character's full name is Canton Everett Delaware III. I think we can officially assume his character is going to be colorful. [PopCultureZoo]

Ah, now this is much more interesting. Some of the vaunted Doctor Who set snoopers have turned up video and photos showing Mark Sheppard on set as Canton, who is seen menacing Alex Kingston's River Song. [TARDIS Spoilers, Doctor Who News Page, and Alun Vega's Flickr]

The following lines of conversation were reportedly overheard on set:

Canton: "Stop! Don't move!"
River: "There are loads of them, They're everywhere"
Canton: "America is being invaded!"
River: "America was invaded a long time ago, America is occupied."
Canton: "Don't move! There's no way out!"
River: "Oh really?"

Supernatural:

Original Freddy Krueger Robert Englund will appear in the December 10 episode, playing a character called Doctor Robert. Here's executive producer Sera Gamble's take on the character:

"Hunters often find themselves in situations where they need medical attention but can't exactly stroll into an ER. Robert plays an unlicensed doc who makes his living stitching folks up on the down low. One of our guys goes to him with a life-or-death problem."

Fargo actor Neil Grayston says Felicia Day and Wil Wheaton are major players in the second half of the season, and they're both involved with his character:

Sanctuary:

The third season big bad will be played by Ian Tracey, and he's "iconic character from history and literature" who "we'll love to hate." (So absolutely nothing like Warehouse 13's H.G. Wells, then.) The character is apparently the inspiration for Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. (No, seriously, he's nothing like H.G. Wells. Why are you looking at me like that?) [E! Online]
