Sure it’s just to advertise a new Gravity Falls book coming out, but it also features Jason Ritter in full Dipper cosplay—back, for one brief shining moment, in character. It’s wonderful.
The PSA features Schaal (“America’s sweetheart, to a small few”) and Ritter hocking fictional bindings for the release of latest third—and presumably final—journal from the show, which Mabel and Dipper used to guide them on all their weird and wonderful adventures in Gravity Falls.
Yes, sadly, sweaters for your books adorned with the visage of Kristen Schaal are not a real product for sale, not even for a million dollars. The book is though, and features pages seen in the show itself as well as new material covering even more monsters, and insight from series creator Alex Hirsch.
If anything, this PSA just serves to remind us all of the sublime chemistry between Ritter and Schaal, and how much we all miss Dipper and Mabel as characters. Gravity Falls: Journal 3 will set you back $20.
