Steven Moffat answers the question. Also, has Wonder Woman really secured a female director at last? Matt Reeves details what's next for Caesar in the Planet of the Apes prequels. Wonder Woman

Director Lexi Alexander, named as possible candidate in the search for a female Wonder Woman director, has said that she's not interested in being considered. She told Fast Company:

Imagine the weight on my shoulders. How many male superhero movies fail? So now, we finally get Wonder Woman with a female director, imagine if it fails. And you have no control over marketing, over budget. So without any control, you carry the f**king weight of gender equality for both characters and women directors. No way.

Forbes reached out to her for clarification, and she said:

"I can't say they wouldn't consider me, but they haven't reached out." She said she heard Warner Bros. had been made an offer to another female director.

"If she says yes, everybody will be very happy, including me," Alexander said. "Still, I don't see at this point why anyone would say yes. There is huge pressure … If [a female director] does fail, then all of a sudden it's 'all women suck at directing.'"

So, even if it's not Alexander, it sounds like the earlier reports that the list was actually made up of entirely male directors might have been false. [Forbes]

Star Wars

The BBC's Lizo Mzimba has pointed out that Pinewood Studios lists the "Exterior Tank" as one of the shooting locations. The tank is an 806,000-gallon outdoor tank large enough to allow "complex set construction" and backed by blue and green screens for CGI. [The Force.net]

Planet of the Apes

Matt Reeves laid out how he sees Caesar (Andy Serkiss) changing throughout the films, hinting at where the third prequel film will go:

The first one is sort of how [Caesar] goes from humble beginnings to becoming a revolutionary. In 'Dawn,' he really rose to occasion of becoming a leader in really challenging and difficult times. The notion of what we're after with the third is to sort of continue that trajectory and see how he becomes a seminal figure in ape history. He almost becomes sort of like an ape Moses. A mythic status... We're trying to play out those themes and continue to sort of explore it in this universe. Exploring human nature under the guise of apes.

Doctor Who

Steven Moffat said on Doctor Who Extra that we may not have seen the last of Michelle Gomez as Missy:

"I always rather enjoyed how they handled this problem when the wonderful Anthony Ainley was playing the part in the 80s."

"He would get killed, definitively, at the end of every encounter with Peter Davison and Colin Baker. And then he'd turn up at the start of the next Master story with roughly this explanation: 'I escaped!' Suits me, I'm fine with that!"

"Supervillains don't die, do they?" he added. "I wouldn't trust anything about that character's ability to lie down and stop breathing."

The Walking Dead

Josh McDermitt and Michael Cudlitz broke down the major reveals from the last episode, with Cudlitz saying that he hopes Abraham realizes that Eugene saved his life, even if he was lying. As for how Abraham might act going forward:

So he is being introduced to new thought processes and people that he can respect. So we'll see how he comes back from this, in what way, and what other conflicts come out of this, because he still has more to process. He not only went on this mission, but he killed a lot of people to save Eugene, and it was all a lie. ... But I think there's a part of him that will try to fight to find something to live for. I hope so.

McDermitt added that he thinks that Eugene wasn't hiding his personality that much, that he is pretty much the quirky guy he appeared to be. Like Cudlitz, he previewed what's next for his character:

As you said, this removes the one small glimmer of hope from the show. Do the characters now take on a darker outlook, or do they still believe there is some way to end this? And does Eugene personally have any hope?

Those are great questions. We're going to have to find the answers moving forward. I think Eugene's biggest goal is now — once he wakes up from this beating, if he's still alive — how he gets back into this group. What is his place? What his is worth? I think it's very rare for any character to look on the bright side of things. It was really cool to see Bob playing a game with Sasha. It didn't matter what she threw at him that was so dark and horrible about the world, he found the silver lining. I think that's rare in this world. Eugene definitely doesn't think that way.

Agents of SHIELD

Adrianne Palicki said that, although she can't speak for the writers, "a huge association with Mockingbird is Hawkeye, so I'm sure that will come to light." She did confirm that we would be learning more about her marriage to Lance Hunter and what ended it:

[The conflict that ended the marriage] will come to light in future episodes. It's definitely complex, as most relationships are. You have two people in this weird world that they live in. When she goes undercover she sometimes uses her sexuality to get what she wants, and he has some insecurities….

Henry Simmons previewed tonight's episode and what may get Mac back out in the field:

We get some answers in terms of what Coulson has been searching for. We get answers. How he goes about getting those answers can be controversial. It may not sit well with everyone.

Right now, Mac is trying to figure out what in the world is going on. There seems like there is so much happening. I don't know if he realizes completely about what happened with Coulson. There are many questions.

As the "muscle," are you hoping Mac gets out in the field more?

Absolutely. I'm not saying he doesn't. Things are going to get a little crazy. They are going to need everybody. Let's put it that way.

I would love to get out there, do some hand-to-hand combat and fire some weapons. I think there are some things on the horizon

The episode's main conflict is between her and General Wade Eiling (Clancy Brown), as she doesn't want to exploit her new power and the General, says Frye, "is trying to get a hold of me, to use me as a weapon. He wants what I've got!" [TV Line]

Missy was absolutely my favorite part of the season. She was a better Master than John Simm.
