The Plus plan covers 20,000+ servers across 148 countries and adds NetShield ad filtering, Secure Core routing, and VPN Accelerator, which lifted our download rates on distant servers. Hide.me removed the data allowance from its free plan, so a long session on a Kraków café connection won’t be cut short. Free users choose from 7 countries, Germany and France being the closest to Poland. Poland isn’t among them. Germany is the closest, and a Frankfurt connection added little to our latency from Warsaw. Email, news, and 720p YouTube all worked.

TVP VOD and Player.pl saw a German IP address and refused. StealthGuard works differently from other kill switches. Free accounts get 11 locations: the US, UK, Canada, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Romania, Switzerland, Hong Kong, Turkey, and Norway. Germany and Romania are close enough to Poland for stable video calls. A Polish IP address requires a paid plan.

R.O.B.E.R.T. filters ads, trackers, and malware domains, with editable block lists, and it applies to every device on the account. Confirming the email address raises the monthly allowance from 2 GB to 10 GB. The company is based in Ontario, which places it in a Five Eyes country, though its record stands up.
