How to Watch Foxtel Go Outside Australia in 2026

Foxtel Go’s login page loads from Europe. Foxtel’s sign-up page doesn’t, and Kayo and Binge, Foxtel’s sister services, showed a blank screen from Europe. On Australian servers, NordVPN, ExpressVPN, Proton VPN, Surfshark and PIA unblocked the three in our September tests, and NordVPN’s Perth server was the fastest at 135.60 Mbps. The catch for new customers is the sign-up itself, which requires an Australian mobile number.

What Foxtel Blocks Outside Australia

We checked each Foxtel Group page from Europe without a VPN, then on each VPN’s Australian server.

Kayo and Binge show no error message abroad, only a dark, empty page, so the block is easy to mistake for a broken site. It loaded from Europe with no VPN, so any location check comes after a subscriber signs in, which we couldn’t test without a Foxtel account. The app is the other obstacle: we couldn’t download Foxtel Go from Europe, and a VPN doesn’t change an app store’s country. Install it before leaving Australia.

Can You Sign Up for Foxtel From Overseas?

Not in practice. The sign-up page loads on each Australian server, and the Foxtel Now form requires:

• An Australian mobile number, which receives the SMS code that starts the 10-day free trial.
• An Australian postcode, along with a name and password.

Without an Australian phone, we couldn’t finish the sign-up. The bundle offered to us, Sports + Movies, costs A$58 a month for the first 12 months and A$84 after that, with no payment due during the trial. A VPN helps Australians who already subscribe and travel, and it doesn’t replace an Australian number for a new account.

Best VPNs for Foxtel Go

Every figure comes from each VPN’s fastest Australian server, measured in September from Europe on a 190.36 Mbps connection.

Our test rig is in Europe, so distance accounts for much of that loss. Even Proton VPN’s 79.97 Mbps leaves room for HD streaming.

1. NordVPN: Fastest Australian Server

NordVPN‘s Perth server measured 135.60 Mbps, 28.8% below our baseline and ahead of the other four. It unblocked Foxtel’s sign-up page, Kayo and Binge. The app lists Adelaide, Brisbane, Melbourne, Perth and Sydney with no server count, plus obfuscated Australian servers for hotel or office networks that block VPNs. In our wider speed testing, NordVPN is one of the fastest VPNs.

Its Windows app was our one source of trouble: with a second VPN installed, it sometimes failed to connect. A 27-month Basic subscription is $94.23, or $3.49 a month, and the yearly renewal is $139.08. The Android app includes a 3-day trial.

2. ExpressVPN: Most Sydney Locations

ExpressVPN lists seven Australian locations in five cities, with Sydney, Sydney – 2 and Woolloomooloo covering Sydney. Its Sydney server measured 125.26 Mbps, 34.2% below our baseline, and the app took one to two seconds to connect.

Advanced users will find few settings to adjust, and ExpressVPN doesn’t disclose its server counts. For a closer look at the top two, see ExpressVPN vs NordVPN. Twenty-eight months of the Basic plan cost $83.72, or $2.99 a month, and renewal is $99.95 a year.

3. Proton VPN: Largest Australian Network

Proton VPN has 281 servers in five Australian cities, according to its website, with 72 in Melbourne. Its Perth server shows no Smart routing badge, so it’s physically in Australia.

Speed is the drawback. Perth measured 79.97 Mbps, 58.0% below our baseline and the lowest of the five. For a TV, the Proton VPN app is the only method, since there’s no Smart DNS. The two-year VPN Plus term totals $71.76 ($2.99 a month); after that, Proton VPN bills $83.88 yearly.

4. Surfshark: Best for Families

Surfshark‘s website lists 40 Australian servers across five cities, and its Brisbane location has no virtual label in the app. Brisbane measured 100.30 Mbps, 47.3% below our baseline. Surfshark sets no device limit, useful for a family sharing one Foxtel login. Connections sometimes took longer than on the other four.

5. Private Internet Access: Cheapest Option

Private Internet Access measured 126.01 Mbps from Perth, 33.8% below our baseline. Its app lists five Australian cities plus an Australia Streaming Optimized server, and its regular servers unblocked Foxtel’s sign-up page, Kayo and Binge too. The Windows app has no Automatic protocol setting and starts on OpenVPN.

WireGuard has to be selected by hand. The interface also looks dated. PIA costs $1.99 a month on its two-year plan, the lowest of the five, and ranks on our cheap VPN list. Its 7-day free trial covers a short trip.

A VPN solves the location check for Foxtel, Kayo and Binge, but it can’t solve Foxtel’s sign-up, which requires an Australian mobile number. That makes it a tool for subscribers on the move. Install the Foxtel Go app in Australia, and connect to an Australian server abroad.
