NordVPN leads our Lebanon VPN rankings, and Proton VPN and ExpressVPN are the other two with Lebanese servers that worked in our tests. Each gave us a Lebanese IP address, and MTV Lebanon’s live stream played on the three. NordVPN’s Beirut server measured 172.50 Mbps with 86 ms of ping, and its IP address geolocated to Beirut. MTV Lebanon played live on it, and LBCI’s and Al Jadeed’s sites loaded normally. Its Beirut download trailed Proton VPN’s 183.06 Mbps and ExpressVPN’s 185.68 Mbps, though it still covers 4K streaming. 2. Proton VPN: Best for Swiss Privacy Protections

Proton VPN’s Beirut server, labeled Smart routing in the app to mark a virtual location, measured 183.06 Mbps with 94 ms of ping. Speedtest showed its IP address in Broummana, a town near Beirut. MTV Lebanon played on it, it loaded the LBCI and Al Jadeed sites, and it unblocked Netflix in our streaming tests.

For users in Lebanon, Secure Core sends traffic through privacy-focused countries first, and Stealth disguises the VPN connection on filtered networks. ExpressVPN recorded 185.68 Mbps and 85 ms of ping on its Lebanon location, the fastest Lebanese result we recorded and a 2.5% drop from our baseline. Speedtest located its IP address in Beirut, MTV Lebanon played, and the LBCI and Al Jadeed pages loaded as well. The app offers one Lebanese location with no server count. 4. Surfshark: Best for Disney+ From Lebanon

Disney+ played in Surfshark’s desktop app with no browser extension, a result no other VPN in our streaming tests matched, so Disney+ viewers in Lebanon should choose it. Its UK server was 1.8% below our baseline. The Strict kill switch mode kept traffic blocked through a PC reboot, so a power cut doesn’t expose the connection when the PC starts again.

It has no Lebanese servers, so it can’t provide a Lebanese IP address for MTV Lebanon or other local sites. Some connection attempts were slow to complete. On a 27-month term, Surfshark’s Starter plan is priced below $2.50 monthly.

5. Private Internet Access: Best for MACE Ad Blocking

Private Internet Access blocked 129 of 135 ad and tracker requests (96%) with MACE, the highest score we recorded, which cuts ads and tracking on every site you visit from Lebanon. PIA’s two-year subscription is priced below $2 monthly, and our cheap VPN guide compares it with other low-cost VPNs. PIA doesn’t list Lebanon, so it can’t unblock Lebanese sites from abroad.

The kill switch worked when we pulled the network cable, yet a PC restart exposed unencrypted traffic. For a VPN that puts privacy first, that surprised us. With frequent power cuts in Lebanon, check that the VPN has reconnected before browsing after a restart.

Lebanese sites behaved differently in our tests:

• MTV Lebanon: the live stream worked on the three VPNs after a free sign-up that required no phone number.
• LBCI and Al Jadeed: both sites loaded, but their live streams require an account with a phone number from a country on their list, and our country wasn’t included.
• Banque de l’Habitat: the bank’s login page returned a 403 Forbidden error on every VPN, so Lebanese banking sites may require your regular connection.

Using a VPN in Lebanon

Freedom House rated Lebanon’s internet Partly Free, at 50 out of 100, in its 2025 report. It cited damage to telecom infrastructure from Israeli airstrikes, a crackdown on online criticism of powerful figures, and cyberattacks on news sites. Lebanese ISPs have also blocked websites tied to Israel, gambling, and escort services.

Encryption hides the sites you visit from your ISP, and it protects logins on public Wi-Fi. Power cuts are common, so enable the kill switch: it stops traffic from leaving unprotected when the connection drops.

Lebanon Proxy or VPN?

A VPN is the better choice for a Lebanese IP address. A proxy changes the IP address for one browser or app and usually leaves traffic unencrypted. A VPN covers every app on the device, including the MTV Lebanon app, and encrypts the connection. The browser extensions from NordVPN and Proton VPN also work as encrypted proxies when covering the browser is enough.

Is There a Free VPN for Lebanon?

Free VPNs don’t include Lebanon. We checked the free plans of Proton VPN, Windscribe, and PrivadoVPN, and none lists it, so a Lebanese IP address requires a paid subscription.
