YouPorn in Australia: Why It’s Blocked and How to Access It in 2026

YouPorn has been unavailable in Australia since Friday, March 6, 2026. Aylo, the company that owns YouPorn and Pornhub, cut off Australian visitors three days before the country’s new age-check codes for websites came into force. Every Australian visitor lost access to YouPorn, RedTube, and Tube8. Pornhub stayed online in a safe-for-work version.

Aylo has treated the two sites differently since. In October, Aylo brought Pornhub back for Australians with Apple’s age confirmation on their iPhone or iPad, and its announcement named Pornhub only. For adults, a VPN set to a country where YouPorn operates normally is the way back to the site. Here’s how it works, and what else changed.

Why Is YouPorn Blocked in Australia?

Aylo blocked YouPorn itself. The Australian government didn’t. On March 6, 2026, YouPorn, RedTube, and Tube8 “blocked all Australian users, regardless of age,” Crikey reported. Pornhub instead showed signed-out Australians interviews and other safe-for-work videos. YouPorn shows a notice that it’s “not currently accepting new account registrations in your region.”

The block follows the IP address. Three days later, on March 9, the code for websites took effect. It’s one of the Age-Restricted Material Codes that eSafety registered under the Online Safety Act 2021, and it requires porn websites to use age assurance. A click-through “I am 18” button no longer counts.

Aylo said its platforms “will be restricting access” and that Australia’s approach “creates harms relating to data privacy and exposure to illegal content on non-compliant platforms.” eSafety’s own fact sheet says: “The Codes do not stop adults from accessing legal but age-restricted material.”

Did YouPorn Come Back With Pornhub?

No. Aylo restored Pornhub on October 7, 2026, for Australians who had confirmed their age through Apple using an iPhone or iPad. They now see the standard adult version of Pornhub. Aylo’s statement and the news reports that followed name Pornhub only, and none reports YouPorn returning in Australia.

When Aylo restored UK access for updated iPhones in May 2026, Mediaweek reported that iPhone users could visit Aylo’s other platforms, though the report didn’t name YouPorn. YouPorn may follow Pornhub in Australia, but Aylo hasn’t said so.

Step-by-Step YouPorn Setup With a VPN

Stay away from Australian, UK, and French servers, and from the US states where Aylo pulled out. YouPorn is restricted or unavailable on all of those.

3. Visit YouPorn

With the VPN connected, go to YouPorn in your browser. If the registration notice still appears, delete YouPorn’s cookies from your Australian visits and reload. On an iPhone or iPad without Apple’s adult confirmation, Apple’s Web Content Filter is enabled by default and may block adult sites.

YouPorn Accounts and Login in Australia

New YouPorn accounts can’t be created from an Australian IP address. The registration notice says exactly that. What happens to accounts created before March 6 is less clear. Aylo hasn’t said, and no news report describes what a signed-in Australian sees. On Pornhub at least, Aylo checks location at login as well as at sign-up.

In France, a Pornhub account created from a Swiss IP address couldn’t log in from France, the French tech site Next found in June 2026.

Where Is YouPorn Unavailable?

Australia isn’t the only place where YouPorn is blocked or limited. Aylo has withdrawn or limited YouPorn in other places with age-check laws, and some governments block porn sites by law.

Germany’s status is unclear. YouPorn and Pornhub were blocked there by internet companies on a regulator’s order, and a German court ruled those orders unlawful in early 2026. Indonesia, Malaysia, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE also restrict porn sites nationwide. In those places, a VPN doesn’t change the local law.

What Happened to YouPorn?

YouPorn launched on August 26, 2006. Key dates since then:

• 2011: Manwin, the company later renamed MindGeek and then Aylo, bought YouPorn.
• 2012: Details of about one million users leaked through a third-party chat service the site used.
• 2025: Aylo pulled YouPorn from France in a dispute over the country’s age-check rules.
• 2026: YouPorn closed to new UK users in February and blocked Australia in March.

The 2012 leak happened at an outside company that YouPorn used for chat. Age checks today also pass through third-party companies.

YouPorn Proxy Sites and Their Risks

They aren’t safe. Searches for a YouPorn proxy return spam pages hosted on hijacked university and corporate subdomains. YouPorn, VPNs, and Australian Law

Adults can use a VPN for YouPorn in Australia. VPN use is legal there. The codes put their obligations on websites and other services, and eSafety’s guidance on the codes expects those services to act on workarounds, including through VPN detection. The government hasn’t proposed banning VPNs themselves.

A VPN offers no exemption from Australian law. Porn remains restricted to adults, and classification laws apply as usual.

Sites That Stayed in Australia

Most of the large sites outside Aylo’s network stayed in Australia and added age checks. The Guardian reported on eSafety’s briefing for Senate estimates in May 2026. It said about 90% of the porn sites Australians visited most in 2025 had added 18+ age assurance.
