The Best VPN for Bangladesh in 2026

Five VPNs provided a Bangladeshi IP address in our October tests, and NordVPN’s Dhaka server was the fastest at 168.86 Mbps. Toffee, which is blocked outside Bangladesh, was unblocked on four of them, with ExpressVPN the exception. Bongo blocked every VPN except Private Internet Access. No free VPN we checked offers a Bangladeshi server.

VPNs With Bangladeshi Servers

Speeds were measured in October from a Windows 11 PC in Europe with a 190.36 Mbps connection. Each VPN connected to its Bangladeshi location, and Speedtest picked a Dhaka test server.

Surfshark, Private Internet Access, and Proton VPN label their Bangladeshi locations as virtual (outside the country). NordVPN’s and ExpressVPN’s apps don’t say whether theirs are virtual. Windscribe, PrivadoVPN, Hide.me, and Proton VPN’s free plan offer no Bangladeshi location. WhatIsMyIPAddress placed every IP address in Dhaka and listed it as a “VPN Server.”

The owners were PacketHub for NordVPN, Proton AG for Proton VPN, Cyberzon S.A. for Surfshark, and Colocation America Corporation for ExpressVPN and PIA. Pings of 228 to 244 ms from Europe make a Bangladeshi server a poor choice for gaming from abroad, and our guide on how to lower ping covers the alternatives.

Bangladeshi Streaming Services on a VPN

We checked each service from Europe without a VPN first, then on every VPN’s Bangladeshi server.

Bongo restricts VPN connections, and its catalog is available abroad. NordVPN showed a firewall page naming “VPN use” as the first reason, and ExpressVPN, Proton VPN, and Surfshark received a 403 error. Using a VPN in Bangladesh

In Bangladesh, connect to a server outside the country. A Bangladeshi IP address adds nothing locally, and a nearby country such as Singapore or India keeps the ping lower. VPN use is legal in Bangladesh, and the rules around blocking have changed quickly:

• July 2024: a five-day complete internet shutdown during the protests, with social media still restricted after service returned.
• December 2025: an ordinance banned internet and telecom shutdowns.
• April 2026: the new parliament’s review committee marked that ordinance for passage with amendments, without detailing them.
• June 2026: the Cyber Security (Amendment) Bill gave BTRC and other agencies power to block content and request user data from platforms.

Where a network blocks VPN connections, obfuscation disguises the traffic. When we blocked VPN traffic on our own connection, Proton VPN reconnected within 10 seconds, and NordVPN took about 90 seconds but kept more speed. Our VPN blocker guide has the full results.

Best VPNs for Bangladesh

1. NordVPN: Best for Speed on Bangladeshi Servers

NordVPN‘s Dhaka server measured 168.86 Mbps down and 18.35 Mbps up, 11.3% below our baseline, with a 237 ms ping. ExpressVPN came second at 144.98 Mbps. NordVPN ranks among the fastest VPNs we’ve tested. It unblocked Toffee, while Bongo blocked it with a firewall page, so Bongo requires split tunneling on NordVPN.

NordVPN doesn’t disclose how many servers it has in Bangladesh or whether the location is virtual. For users in Bangladesh, Double VPN and NordWhisper obfuscation cover privacy on filtered networks. NordVPN charges $94.23 for the first 27 months of the Basic plan, $3.49 a month, for 10 devices.

2. Private Internet Access: Best for Bangladeshi Streaming

Private Internet Access was the only VPN Bongo didn’t block. Bongo’s homepage and catalog appeared on its Bangladeshi server, and it unblocked Toffee too. PIA’s IP address looked up under the same owner as ExpressVPN’s, Colocation America Corporation, and Bongo still blocked ExpressVPN. Speed came in at 131.05 Mbps, 31.2% below our baseline, with a 230 ms ping.

PIA’s app lists the location among its geo-located regions, meaning the servers are outside Bangladesh, and PIA keeps its server count private. Its Windows interface is the most dated of the five. At $1.99 a month on the two-year plan, PIA is the cheap VPN pick of the five, and it sets no device limit.

3. Surfshark: Best for Households

Surfshark‘s Bangladeshi location measured 141.29 Mbps with a 228 ms ping, the lowest of the five, and 25.8% below our baseline on download. The location is labeled virtual in the app, and Surfshark has 4 servers there. Toffee played on it, and Bongo showed a 403 error. Surfshark’s wider streaming record is strong, with 13 of the 14 services in our round unblocked, including three Netflix libraries.

4. Proton VPN: Best for Privacy in Bangladesh

Proton VPN has 23 Dhaka servers, more than Surfshark’s 4. The location carries a Smart routing badge, Proton VPN’s label for servers based outside Bangladesh. Its server measured 98.29 Mbps, 48.4% below our baseline and the slowest of the five, with a 244 ms ping. It unblocked Toffee, but Bongo detected it. For users in Bangladesh, Proton VPN adds two privacy tools.

Secure Core sends traffic through Switzerland, Iceland, or Sweden first, and the Stealth protocol disguises VPN traffic on filtered networks. 5. ExpressVPN: Best for Automatic Obfuscation

ExpressVPN‘s Bangladeshi location measured 144.98 Mbps with a 230 ms ping, 23.8% below our baseline, and second only to NordVPN. Access was its weak point. Toffee blocked it, the only VPN Toffee blocked, and Bongo returned a 403 error, so it unblocked neither of the Bangladeshi services that check. In Bangladesh, its obfuscation applies to every connection with nothing to enable.

On our blocked network, it reconnected after about 40 seconds. For Bangladeshi streaming from abroad, it’s the weakest pick. It ranks on our best VPN services and streaming VPNs lists. Its Basic plan comes to $2.99 a month when you prepay $83.72 for 28 months.

How to Get a Bangladeshi IP Address

1. Sign up for NordVPN and download the app for your device.
2. Connect to Dhaka, Bangladesh from the location list.
3. Check whatismyipaddress.com, which should show Dhaka.
4. Go to Toffee or another Bangladeshi service.

Final Thoughts

Toffee and Bongo point to different VPNs. NordVPN is the best VPN for Bangladesh overall, ranking first on Dhaka speed, well ahead of the other four, and it unblocked Toffee. Private Internet Access ranks second as the only VPN that unblocked Toffee and Bongo, and it’s the cheapest of the five.

Surfshark covers a whole household with no device limit. Proton VPN has 23 Dhaka servers and adds Secure Core and Stealth for users in Bangladesh, though its Dhaka speed was the lowest. ExpressVPN was fast but blocked by Toffee and Bongo, so it ranks last for viewers abroad and remains useful for obfuscation in Bangladesh.
