Disclaimer: This page is written for adults. Gizmodo supports Arizona’s effort to keep explicit material away from minors. Explicit material is restricted to adults in Arizona. Our interest is the privacy of legal adults, whose identity documents now pass through third-party companies with their own breach history.
Since September 2025, Arizona law has required adult websites to confirm that visitors are 18 or older. Pornhub’s owner, Aylo, restricted the state instead of running those checks, and its other free sites followed. Most other large sites remain available after an ID scan, a selfie, or a verified account.
That leaves adults with a few practical questions. Which porn sites still work in AZ, what does the law require from them, and where does an uploaded ID end up? We’ll answer everything below.
Watch Pornhub in Arizona in Four Steps
- Get a NordVPN subscription through our link, which unlocks the current discount.
- Open NordVPN and sign in to your account.
- Connect to a Los Angeles server. Nevada, New Mexico, and Colorado are alternatives, while Utah and Texas restrict Pornhub too.
- Start a private browsing session, so older Arizona cookies aren’t reused.
- Go to Pornhub and browse normally.
Is Pornhub Blocked in Arizona?
No Arizona law bans Pornhub, but its owner restricted the site when the age verification law took effect. That restriction remains in place as of November 2026, and Pornhub lets only existing members sign in from Arizona.

Aylo’s other free sites, YouPorn, RedTube, and Tube8, are blocked in Arizona. Brazzers, the company’s paid studio site, still works normally there.
Aylo’s stated position is that age checks should happen once on a device, such as a phone, and apply to every site. Meanwhile, Pornhub limits access in most of the US states with website age-check laws, and Arizona joined that group in September 2025.
Where to Connect: States Without Age-Check Laws
Connect to a VPN server in a state that has no age-check law for adult sites. Pornhub then treats the connection as coming from that state. California is the closest of those states, and when I tested it this November, Pornhub worked normally with the IP from Los Angeles.
| State | Age-check law for adult sites | Pornhub |
| California | No | Available |
| Nevada | No | Available |
| New Mexico | No | Available |
| Colorado | No | Available |
| Utah | Yes | Blocked |
| Texas | Yes | Blocked |
Choose the server by hand, though. NordVPN and Proton VPN have Arizona servers, and a quick-connect button tends to choose the closest location. Outside the US, Canada has no age-check law in force, and Canadian servers are another option.

On the other hand, the UK, France, and Australia are poor choices, because Pornhub limits its site for visitors there. If the Arizona login page still appears after connecting, the browser is probably reusing an old cookie. Delete Pornhub’s cookies and reload, or start over in a private window.
Porn Sites Available in AZ: November 2026 Status
I checked each site through a Phoenix VPN server in November, which shows what an Arizona visitor sees, so here’s what I found:
| Site | Status in Arizona |
| Pornhub | Login for existing members only, sign-ups closed |
| YouPorn | Blocked |
| RedTube | Blocked |
| Tube8 | Blocked |
| Brazzers | Available (paid membership) |
| xHamster | Age check, with a free account |
| XVideos | Age check |
| XNXX | Age check |
| SpankBang | Age check |
| Eporner | Age check, with a free account |
| Chaturbate | Age check |
| Stripchat | Age check before live shows |
Each site chooses its own verification method. For example, Chaturbate lists four ways to verify, including a face scan and Yoti. XNXX relies on AgeGO, which accepts an AgeGO login or a selfie that estimates age.
xHamster and Eporner add a step: visitors create a free account first. Eporner then confirms that account by email and also offers a selfie age estimate.
Arizona’s Porn Law: Key Dates and Penalties
Arizona’s age verification law, HB 2112, follows the Texas model that the Supreme Court upheld in June 2025. Any commercial site must comply once harmful-to-minors material exceeds one-third of its content.
Such sites must confirm that visitors are adults, either with a digital ID or through a verification company that checks a government ID or transaction records.
- 2024: Governor Katie Hobbs vetoes an earlier age verification bill.
- May 13, 2025: Hobbs signs HB 2112.
- September 22, 2025: Pornhub announces it’ll restrict Arizona.
- September 26, 2025: the law takes effect as A.R.S. § 18-701.
- 2026: the legislative session ends with no changes to the law, and HB 2900, a bill to ban producing and selling porn in Arizona, never leaves committee.
No state agency enforces the law. A parent can file a lawsuit over a minor’s access to a noncompliant site, and a court can award:
- Up to $10,000 for every day a site broke the rules
- An added $250,000 at most when a child saw explicit content as a result
- The parent’s attorney fees
What Arizona’s Law Says About Your ID
Sites and verification companies can’t keep identifying information after a check, and they can’t send it to any government agency. An adult whose data was kept or shared can sue for up to $10,000 per instance, and court filings must hide that person’s details.
Those rules limit what companies may store, but breaches still happen. Discord, for example, disclosed a breach at a customer service contractor in October 2025. ID images from roughly 70,000 users, sent in to prove their age, may have been exposed.
Arizona’s law offers a remedy afterward, through a lawsuit, but it can’t undo a leak. For adults who do verify, a selfie age estimate keeps the ID document itself out of the process, where a site offers that choice.
VPNs and Arizona’s Age-Check Law
Using a VPN is legal in Arizona. HB 2112 doesn’t mention VPNs, and it places no duty or penalty on visitors. Among states, Utah is the exception: its 2026 law counted VPN users by their actual location until a judge suspended that clause.
Certain content, such as sexual images of minors, is a crime at any age, however, and a VPN makes no difference to that.
VPNs Tested on Los Angeles Servers
NordVPN, Proton VPN, and ExpressVPN lead our ranking of VPNs for adult sites, and they’re the three we recommend for Arizona. Here are their Los Angeles results from our November tests on a PC in Europe:
| Los Angeles server | Download | Upload | Ping |
| NordVPN | 167.15 Mbps | 18.08 Mbps | 187 ms |
| Proton VPN | 118.03 Mbps | 16.41 Mbps | 179 ms |
| ExpressVPN | 135.29 Mbps | 16.96 Mbps | 191 ms |
NordVPN: Best for Dark Web Leak Alerts

Pros
- Fast Los Angeles servers
- Leak alerts for email and ID numbers
- Post-quantum encryption in every app
- Servers in every US state
- Ten devices per account
Con
- Busy app for first-time users
NordVPN downloaded faster than Proton VPN and ExpressVPN on Los Angeles servers, and its speed comfortably covers Pornhub’s 4K videos. Among NordVPN’s plans, Complete and Prime add Dark Web Monitor Pro, which scans leaked data for your email addresses, phone number, and ID numbers.
If one turns up in a breach, the app sends an alert. The app has many menus, which can confuse a first-time VPN user. On the Windows app, typing “Los Angeles” into the search box is the quickest way to connect and reliably unblock Pornhub or any other adult site.
Proton VPN: Best for Picking Servers by State

Pros
- US servers grouped by state
- NetShield ad and malware blocking
- Securitum-audited no-logs policy
Con
- Free plan doesn’t let you choose a server
Proton VPN lists each US server under its state, as in California – Los Angeles. That makes it easy to choose California, Nevada, or Colorado and to skip Arizona and Utah. Paid plans add NetShield, so most pop-up ads on free tube sites disappear.
On Los Angeles servers, its ping was lower than NordVPN’s and ExpressVPN’s, though both downloaded faster. A free version exists too, and it’s among the few free VPNs without a monthly data cap.
However, it assigns a server automatically, and a free US server can be in a state with an age-check law. Proton VPN Plus lets you pick Los Angeles directly.
ExpressVPN: Best for US Identity Theft Cover

Pros
- Identity theft insurance for US subscribers
- Data broker removal requests
- Simple one-screen app
Cons
- Identity Defender requires the Advanced or Pro plan
- Higher cost after the first term
ExpressVPN includes Identity Defender in its Advanced and Pro plans for US subscribers. The package covers ID alerts, removal requests to data brokers, and identity theft insurance. For adults in Arizona who have already uploaded an ID to an adult site, those tools cover the risk of that data leaking later.
On Los Angeles servers, ExpressVPN came second for download speed, and its Lightway protocol is built for quick connections. The Basic plan doesn’t include Identity Defender, so choose Advanced if the ID tools are the main reason to subscribe.
Verdict
Porn remains legal in Arizona, but the state’s age-check law changed which sites work there. Pornhub and Aylo’s other free sites restrict Arizona, while xHamster, Chaturbate, and most large sites verify ages before videos play. Connect to a server in California or another state without an age-check law, and Pornhub works as it does there.
Choose that server by hand, though. Quick-connect buttons pick the nearest location, and from Arizona, that can be a server in the state, which brings back the member-only login page.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is porn illegal in Arizona?
No. Pornography is legal for adults in Arizona, where the law regulates websites through age verification. A proposed statewide ban on commercial pornography never advanced past committee.
Can you watch porn in AZ without a VPN?
Yes. Most adult sites still serve Arizona after a visitor passes an age check, such as an ID scan or a selfie estimate. Pornhub is the main exception, with sign-ups closed for Arizona.
Are there free porn sites that work in Arizona?
Yes. Free sites such as xHamster, XVideos, XNXX, Eporner, and SpankBang serve Arizona visitors after an age check. Pornhub, YouPorn, RedTube, and Tube8, owned by Aylo, restrict the state.
Why does Pornhub think I'm in Arizona?
Pornhub estimates location from the IP address, and even through a VPN, an old cookie can restore the Arizona login page. Removing the site's cookies usually fixes it.
Who can sue under Arizona's age verification law?
Two groups can sue: parents whose child viewed explicit material on a site without age checks, and adults whose ID data a site or verification company kept or shared.
Does Arizona block porn sites itself?
No. Arizona doesn't filter internet traffic or block websites. The law places the duty on adult sites, which must verify ages or face lawsuits, and some sites chose to restrict the state.
