We also examined Brave VPN and NordVPN for stored information and detected only a few irrelevant tidbits for troubleshooting and maintenance. For instance, they’ll collect data about your simultaneous connections to enforce their limits. Other than that, they’re clean as a whistle.

We forgot to mention that Brave VPN doesn’t use RAM or diskless servers. NordVPN does, which are beneficial for privacy because of volatile memory, which erases all data with each server reboot.

Speed Tests: Which Service is Faster?

We couldn’t leave you without streaming and torrenting tests. That’s why many people expect a VPN to do. So, are NordVPN and Brave VPN competent in these aspects? Answers lie beneath!

Streaming Test Results

Brave VPN’s streaming abilities are more disabilities.

After testing BBC iPlayer for at least fifty times, we couldn’t access it, no matter the browser, the server, or the device we used. We then used the same UK server to access Netflix UK, and while subscription prices were in British Pounds, we couldn’t unblock UK-only content. The same goes for the US library.

Brave VPN unblocked a few free channels with F1 live streams, but they had no anti-VPN measures and posed no challenge even for free VPNs. Noteworthy is that streaming quality was average, with a few hiccups and longer-than-expected load times.

But then, we fired up NordVPN and felt reborn!

This VPN worked with over twenty Netflix libraries, including the most popular ones. BBC iPlayer? It worked like a charm in our location! Other channels? The same! NordVPN’s browser extension was fantastic, with location spoofing that allowed us to unblock Pluto TV and access it from the Balkans.

The VPN offers dedicated P2P servers, with special attention to speed, security, and privacy. Moreover, they’re in every app, so you can initiate safe torrent downloads on a computer, tablet, or phone. We tested P2P and non-P2P servers and found they’re equally fast, making NordVPN versatile.

Brave VPN’s torrenting prowess can’t be disputed. While slower than NordVPN, it’s equally reliable and offers P2P on all servers. You just need to connect to the closest one, encrypt your traffic, and start downloading. Brave VPN’s straightforward app makes it a one-minute job, and it’s so satisfying.

Server Locations

At this price, you’d expect more servers from Brave VPN, but it currently offers only 300 in 20+ countries and 40+ locations. NordVPN has over 8,100 servers in 165+ locations, so it’s not even a fair comparison. It’s like comparing a Yugo to a Ferrari. They may be painted similarly, but even the paint quality differs!

On top of everything, NordVPN uses physical and virtual servers, allowing for a greater location span, even if these locations may seem unusual. For instance, NordVPN offers Indian servers. Brave VPN lacks them. The same goes for many African and South American locations that Brave lacks.

We tested Brave VPN in China (our testers, actually), and reported it won’t budge. Since it offers no settings to play around with, it’s incredibly difficult to get it to work.
